Eric Chad

Eric Chad is an interactive projection artist, lighting designer, and show control/integration specialist based in Vancouver, B.C. His work blends interactive elements, generative design, and live tracking with a deep appreciation for natural forms.

His recent credits for design in live performance include collaborations with Kidd Pivot, Out Innerspace, Anne Plamondon, Emma Portner, Electric Company Theatre, Crystal Pite, Why Not Theatre, Action at a Distance, Joe Ink, Plastic Orchid Factory, and Shay Kuebler. Eric has also designed for companies such as Opera Ballet Vlaanderen, Bayerisches Staatsballett, GöteborgsOperan Danskompani, Ballet BC, the Royal Swedish Ballet, Gibney Dance, the Norwegian National Ballet, and Hessisches Staatsballett.

In the Event and Installation space, Eric created video content for the 2024 and 2025 Grey Cup Halftime Shows, he is a founding member of Lobe Studio in Vancouver, B.C, and has worked as an interactive designer on projects such as the Canadian Pavilion at Expo 2020 in Dubai.

Eric is a Sessional Instructor at Douglas College and an Adjunct Professor at the University of British Columbia. He holds a Master of Fine Arts from the University of British Columbia and a Bachelor of Science from McGill University.
