Eric Chad

Eric Chad is an interactive projection artist, lighting designer, and show control/integration specialist based in Vancouver, B.C. His work blends interactive elements, generative design, and live tracking with a deep appreciation for natural forms.

His recent theatre and dance credits include collaborations with Kidd Pivot, Out Innerspace, Anne Plamondon, Emma Portner, Electric Company Theatre, Crystal Pite, Why Not Theatre, Action at a Distance, Joe Ink, Plastic Orchid Factory, and Shay Kuebler. Eric has also designed for companies such as Bayerisches Staatsballett, GöteborgsOperan Danskompani, Ballet BC, the Royal Swedish Ballet, Gibney Dance, the Norwegian National Ballet, and Hessisches Staatsballett.

Outside the theatre, Eric created video content for the 2024 and 2025 Grey Cup Halftime Shows, he is a founding member of Lobe Studio in Vancouver, B.C.—the first permanent 4DSOUND venue in North America—, and has worked as an interactive designer on projects such as the Canadian Pavilion at Expo 2020 in Dubai.

Eric is a Sessional Instructor at Douglas College and an Adjunct Professor at the University of British Columbia. He holds a Master of Fine Arts from the University of British Columbia and a Bachelor of Science from McGill University.
